Synergy Installation Instructions
In order to make sure you have the correct version installed,
you will need to download and install the packages as they are listed,
by following the instructions below.
Synergy Beta 2.6 (Full, Windows/Linux Version)
Synergy Beta 2.6 - R 1.0 (Update)
--------------- Synergy Client Install ---------------
Before you install, please make sure you have the Steam Client installed
along with Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Deathmatch and the Source SDK Base.
Also make sure they have been launched at least once through Steam.
All you need to do is install Synergy to your "SourceMods" directory.
Be sure to restart Steam after you have installed. This will allow
Steam to update your Game list. Synergy should now be visible to you.
--------------- Synergy Server Install ---------------
There are two methods we recommend you use to setup a Synergy server:
METHOD 1 - Using the Steam Client Software (Windows only):
Simply install Synergy to your "Source Dedicated Server" directory,
instead of the default directory ("SourceMods"). Then run your server
through Steam. This method is the fastest, safest and most reliable method.
METHOD 2 - Stand-Alone Dedicated Server (Windows and Linux):
Install Synergy to your Source Dedicated Server directory (example:
"C:\SRCDS\" or "/srcds/"). you will also need to extract some files
from the Steam Cache Files (the GCF files) in order to fix some missing
sounds, shaders, etc. You will need access to a Steam Client to obtain these
Steam Cache Files. The files you need to extract are listed below:
half-life 2 content.gcf/
. maps/
. . *.*
. scenes/
. . *.*
source engine.gcf/
. cfg/
. . *.*
. expressions/
. . *.*
. scripts/
. . talker/
. . . *.*
. . vehicles/
. . . *.*
. . actbusy.txt
. . level_sounds_*.txt
. . npc_sounds_*.txt
. shaders/
. . *.*
These files should be placed into your "/srcds/hl2/" or "C:\SRCDS\hl2\" directory.
You should also add the "d1_trainstation_01" map to your "mapcycle.txt" file.
This map must be the last level in the file.
Now run your server with any desired paramaters.
